Ignition issues
A question for those who have had a similar problem with or without a haltech.
I'll start off by saying that I'm running a haltech e6X with a harness converter form k2rd to use the stock engine harness.
Basically, the car would start and run really rough for a while and then crap out. I checked many different things and finally decided that I'd check the coils and make sure they're firing right. I found that I'm getting 12V to the coil but no signal to triggering signal on the lead coils. I started the car up without the leading hooked up and it ran for about 3 seconds before it just died on me. From what I've been told, it should run off the trails, just not at all well. The crank angle sensor's resistances are right in the center of where they should be (160ish). Any ideas on what this could be?

from the begining which is when the harness converter was installed. I'm going to be testing the wire dirrectly out of the ecu tomorrow and seeing where the failure is. I'll let you know.

Are you using a basemap supplied by k2rd or haltech?
I don't think the haltech basemaps have the leaders'-trigger set up correctly out of box...
Also, I've run my car off trails only, Although I didn't DRIVE the car that way, the idle and rev seemed smooth enough. This however was a no-load condition.

Ok I had the very same problem it turned out ot be the fact the the stock wiring harness was deteriorated and the fuel pump wasn't getting enough gumption! you need to chech that the fuel pump is running after the car starts... so that it doesn't just prime. If that is not the case I would check the stock wiring.

Was this causing the lead coil to not fire though? That could explain the car dieing after 3 seconds though. I'm about to go check the ignition wires and see if the signal is coming out when the CAS is out. Thinking about it now, the fuel pump does turn on when I turn the CAS outside of the block to see if it's triggering correctly so it could be working? How does the fuel pumpwork? Does it shut off when it dropws below a certain pressure in the system (this is a Walbro 255 btw) and then kick back on as needed or is it something to do with the ignition system?

I can turn the CAS and it seems like it's going maybe half the time, I'm not sure what that's all about. The haltech seems to be getting good readings as far as RPM goes yet when I turnt he CAS manually it's not putting out a signal dirrectly from the haltech wiring harness to the lead coil. I'm not sure if this is just because it does it for a small instant that is not big enough for my DMM to pick up or if it is actually not happening. Regardless, I'm doing the fuel pump rewire today to see if that does the trick and if not, I guess that leaves rewiring the CAS?
