idle mixture adjustment screw, you mean?...
mounted on the right strut tower, near the boost/ pressure sensor, little round "stub" sticking up with sealant in it so you can't play with it (unless you really want to)

No you don't need it. The ECU will default to a set setting and the car will run. It's only for idle and idle adjustment. It has a R and a L direction for the screw in that tower outfit. I think the R stands for real lean and the L stands for LOTTSA fuel. Pretty sure about that. Stake my reputation on it.
