I Want more Flames!
Ok, I have a 89 vert that I am trying to get some good flames out of. Right now 1 out of 10 big pop/booms from the exhaust gives me flames. I have a stock header going to a Racing Beat downpipe replacing the two pre-cats, then to replace the main cat I went to the exhaust shop and had them make a peice of pipe with flanges and fittings as the intermediate pipe, then it goes to the Apex'i N1 duel catback setup. I have the air pump line still going into the exhaust through the custom intermediate pipe. Is the air being pumped into the exhaust hurting my flames or helping? I am still running 89 oct. gas, Should it be higher? Emissions are not a concern. I do plan on getting a RB header in the near future, but what can I do now for bigger natural flames? Any help is appreciated.

run 87 octaine (lower flashpoint)and pull the dashpot of the TB if you havent already done so. i think taking the air pipe off helps a little but not very much in my experience. the 87 realy helps tho i cant even shoot flames on premium.

I think flames with an NA are so much harder to get. Its usually just a little pop or backfire. Nothing major like on the TIIs. I'd say get some larger injectors and fue pump. Big flames to even match up against a TII.
