I thought automatic equipped cars were heavier than 5spd cars?

I thought automatic equipped cars were heavier than 5spd cars?

I got a 5spd 90 GXL and it is just like my automatic GXL but the weight on the vin tags is the same.

I thought the auto trans was suppossed to maek the car heavier than a 5 spd car?

are you reading that weight inside the door that says like around 1900 pounds or something? there was some kid who had a huge argument about this. its not the weight of the car its the weight limit the car can hold inside it. its probably the same for the manual and the automatic. i dont think any of the cars have the weight of the car written anywhere on the car itself.

According to Sports Car Color History: Mazda RX-7, there is a 44 lb difference between similarly equipped 5 speeds and automatics. The automatic is heavier, as would be expected.

Thats sounds right to me have you ever lifted an automatic tranny and then a five speed. The auto feels like it could be all the weight diffrence by its self
