Question i Need some help.... OvErHeAtInG!!

I have noticed that everyones FC is overheating and I cant figure out why. I had just bought the car and I noticed that it was heating up.... .. Then I seen that the water in the radiator was BROWN (rUsT).. I am wondering if it has to be the water pump. I just got one and I havent put it in yet.. SooN tHouGH. But I also noticed that the previous owner had not added in COOLANT...(dAmN iDiOt).. . I also oremoved my tstat.. It usually keeps my car cooler.. But if anyone knows any other suggestion can you help..
NOTE: It was not overheating before.. The car sat for 6-7 months...... Thanks

you said you removed the thermostat correct? Then with the car warmed up to operational temperatures, check to see if there's pressure in the upper radiator hose. If not, it probably is your water pump.

hmmm, i hope your aluminum internals haven't started to electrolysize yet, the first spots to be affected are the hottest spots, water pump housing, thermostat housing and exhaust port sleeves.... i wouldn't just drain and refill but i would drain it completely then flush it numerous times with clean water until all of the rust is gone from the system, you may want to remove the thermostat while doing this, it should be changed anyways if it has rust in the system. your radiator may be plugged or the thermostat stuck causing this issue and rust is not something to take lightly in these engines, you should get it all out if possible.

when iron particles(rust) get into your coolant system they gather static charge and release that static charge onto the nearest ground, aluminum is most susceptible to damage because it is a soft metal and breaks down first, second is copper then steel and then is cast iron. to keep this from happening you need to get as much of that junk out of your system and keep flushing it regularly to prevent more damage from happening or it will keep compounding itself.

rust is usually caused by your coolant level being low so iron parts are exposed to air allowing them to oxydize and pollute the cooling system with that oxydization, food for thought.

electrolysis is playing havoc with my rebuild, so prevent it at all costs.

:P j/k but flush your coolant first and make sure you clean ALL of the crap out of there, then go for a run and see if it is still doing this..
also change your Thermostat while your at it.

if you don't get all of the rust out you will wind up with an engine like the one i got with my car:

that is not water coming from inside the chamber, it is coming from a geyser pinhole right in front of the #2 leading spark plug... electrolysis ate away at the housing.

You seriously need to PUT your Tstat back into the car. If you think your tstat is bad, please go buy another one - perferbly mazda one. Any aftermarket Tstats will not do anything for the car.
