i need some electrical help(gauges)

hey whats up, lemme start by saying i looked at the fsm but im not an electrcal engineer and that stuff is to much small print. i have an 88 tII with a haltech, i finally got it running and none of the gauges work. i nned to know what the connector looks like on the harness for the tach, the oil pressure, and the water temp. im guessing the fuel gauge comes from the sending unit and i know the tach requires the stock map sensor. any help on this matter is greatly appreciated, i would love to drive the car but not without knowing the temp and the oil pressure. thanks guys.

Okay, lets start this up...

If your Haltech is hooked up properly, the ONLY gauge you should have lost was the temp gauge. ALL OTHER GAUGES should be functional. Also, the stock tach does NOT require a map sensor (seriously?).. Your issues are not related to the Haltech install unless the install was botched up.

sorry, meant boost gauge, the po installed the haltech and removed most of the wiring harness, he did not unhook it from the ecu, just balled it up and stuck it over in the corner closest to the passenger side. do the plugs for the gauges go to the harness that goes to the ecu in the paa. side firewall or do they come from the drivers side somewhere. im not blaming lost gauges on the haltech, just trying to figure it out. thats why i asked what the plugs looked like and where are they located?

Uh, you wont really be needing that boost gauge. You should be using an aftermarket one.

The harness comes from all kinds of places. Fuel comes from the in tank sender, oil comes from the sender located under your oil filter, tach comes from your trailing coil. None of those gauges are run by the ecu.

also check your fuses.... i lost all my guages due to a short in a wire somewhere and i couldnt get them to work no matter how much i rewired things, but then icemark told me that all the guages are on one fuse. i do believe its the meter fuse if you find its blown and put a new one in and you blow that one then you have a short somewhere.
