If we're not very smart, what does that make you? I mean, we're not the ones stuck with an auto NA that we want to get 7 grand out of.

Question 90'GXL price???

I'm also in the same process.

There is a 1990 GXL for sale on state street in utah. There asking 3,995 for it, not knowing one of it's problems. 3,995 is way to high anyways but I noticed that the rear-end has been replaced by an older model RX-7 (s4), because of the tail lights, and the trim from the car doesn't match. So the car has obviously been rear-ended. Also the paint is faded pretty bad. It has over 110,000 miles on it.
What price do you think would be fair?

yea, autos cost more than manuals...but in an RX7 manuals are desired...undesirables = lower value. excellent condition S5 NA (i mean really immaculate) and a nice stereo install I'd say 4500-5000 max it's the peformance mods that will appeal to people here and even that doesn't warrant a ton of $ unless you mod with really quality stuff and every inch of the car is clean.

Where did all this come from? You asked for what we thought you could sell your car for and everyone is giving you their opinion, if you didnt want an honest opinion then you came to the wrong place. You can ask whatever you want to ask for your car, doesnt mean your going to get it though. Like I stated before, in my eyes my car is worth $30,000 to me. All my blood sweat and tears went into my car but when you sell your car all that is not included in the price. You cant look at a car as an investment thinking your going to get your money out of it because you will not. Good luck selling your car.

Look, you can think all you want. We DO know what we are talking about here. Most everyone had the same opinion, which was between $3-$4k. Yes the book value of your car may be more than that, but that doesnt really mean all that much. If you want book value of your Auto N/A, put full coverage on it and head into a tree at about 60mph. Thats about the only way youll get book value. We know what people will pay for these cars. You obviosly dont. Have fun with your mustang....

Lol 225bhp mustang. Thats nothing amazing Ill let you know turbo ii's are rated at 205bhp stock and about 200lbs lighter. An intake filter will have you running faster than the stang.

S4 TIIs are rated at 182bhp and S5 TIIs 200bhp. And I believe they are more than 200lbs lighter than a mustang.

Take the $5,867 if they are stupid enough to pay that much. I have a feeling that whoever suggested that price is't going to be willing to pay that much themselves.

Blue Book on that car in my area is $3,455, and that's assuming Excellent condition. However, anybody who knows anything about RX-7's is going to consider it a parts car due to the automatic transmission, so a smart person would probably pay more for the stereo system than they would for the car. Yes, if you can find some teenage idiot to overpay for your car, you may get between $5-7K for it. However, most teenage idiots don't have the income for that kind of pricing, so I think you may have a difficult time selling the car for that much.

So anyone who criticized you in this thread will get their asses kicked at the Rotary Revolution? Whatever happened to "Sticks and stones might break my bones, but words will never hurt me."? Just to let you know, that I'll be at the Rotary Revolution and if you have something to take up with me or anyone else for that matter, don't hesitate to speak up.

I may be a jackass, but I'm not trying to start a fight. I'm merely stating my opinion and you don't agree with it. Simple, huh?

outherwise rx7's are for rich people,
I make $25,000 a year as a busser/food runner at a French restaurant. I make ****, but it's enough to pay my bills, rent and fix up my RX-7. RX-7's aren't Porsches or Lambos's, they don't demand a $40,000 per year income to support them (unless you own a 3rd-Gen).
I think you're seriously misguided as to what the costs of owning a sports car can be. RX-7s are surprisingly affordable for all but the poorest of the poor. ****, a decent S4 GXL can be purchased for $800 in good, running condition. How is that a "rich man's" car?

and zach dont start a fight with someone you dont know you could get in deep ****, just some advise ,no offence !
I'm not starting a fight with you. You're just being overly sensitive regarding the statements people have made regarding the absurd price you wanted for your AUTOMATIC GXL with high-miles. Regardless of what you've been led to believe, an automatic transmission is NOT a feature that people are willing to pay for when buying a used sports car. Sure, it might cost a bit more when buying a car new from the dealer, but in the end, an auto tranny only serves to reduce the cars value below that of a similar manual trannied car.

I'm willing to take that bet.

Stock FD with 255 HP and 2800 lb curb weight vs. 225 HP 3400 lb Mustang GT. Well, ****, it looks like the RX-7 is already in the lead. Now, $1000 in an FD will net you about 300 HP, while I'd only expect another 30 HP with a similar investment in a Mustang. Hmm, the RX-7 STILL edges out ahead in the all-important power-to-weight ratio.

Wait, you didn't specify WHAT kind of RX-7, didja?

SOrry dude, but you are on crack

I can get a pristine low mileage (80k or less) S5 Turbo for 6000-7000. Noone in there right mind will pay over 4000 for a S5 NA with 100k on it.
