I NEED HELP!!! please someone!!

Guys, this is the deal...i have an 89 vert with 40k original miles.(i barely drive this car/weekend warrior)

i had this ECU code:
flash (one second)
quick flash
(pause one second)
7quick flashes
then it repeats....

everyone was saying it was the OMP, so i replaced it with a perfectly good working one, as well as switching out the ECU for again a perfectly good working one.

soo i start her up and drive about a block and BAM!!! the check engine light comes on again. i pull into my driveway and check the codes again for the errors, and it is the same damn one...i am going to have to rule out the OMP! and the ECU! does anyone know what the hell this problem is? i am getting really frustrated, it has been about 4 days straight i been working on this, and a shitload of hours under and over the car squeezing in to those tight spots of the OMP. HELP ME PLEASE!!

Fred

Dude, find a wire, fine other wires, fine any wire.

This is the wiring harness.

YOu will need to verify the contact in the connector are good. I doubt there is a bonifies problem with a part on the engine at this point.

Just clean the engine to within an inch of its life.

Get foaming engine cleaner and go to a wand car wash.

Later at night on a weeknight, so you can clean withou being bothered.

Make sure that the entire OMP area is spotless and so are all the wire looms and other nearbly places.

see any damage?

Check for continuity and power usigng the factory service guide procedures.

If you need a guide, tell me where i can send about 10megs of stuff.

my engine bay is clean as hell...the car is rarely driven and since its a vert i keep it garaged. before i removed the original OMP, everything seemed fine...oil was flowing through the lines...everything was nice and dry, no oil leaks that i could see anywhere. *sigh* and noone seems to know what that code means...

Jreynish had the same problem but his car did not go into limp mode:
well i had the same code except mine did not go into limp mode i left my MOP connected in my S5 car and run premix the code is still there but no prob no more THe MOP was putting in way too much oil making it really smoking! Well i don't think that will help but! it is just to give you an idea that i had the same code! If you do find out what it was then let me know!

see, it musnt be the OMP...i dont want to go to the dealer and get fucked in the ***...please help me guys.

Fred

Its simple to read the codes.

Certainly your problem isnt what code you have!

It should be OBVIOUS if you know how to read them.

Long flashes are the tens position.
short flashes are the ones position.

long pauses are spaces between codes.

then it repeats.

What you describe is a code:

11 (intake air thermosensor)

the metering oil pump error codes are:

20 MOP position sensor
27 MOP "broke"
37 MOP "broke"

What you describe above aslo suggests a code "7" but there is no code "7"

I have attached the code lists and code reading tutorial to stop this insanity.

Your MOP is fine!

Never was broken apparently.

Check your air intake themosensor and re-read your codes.

You're reading them wrong apparently.

And tell me where I can sen a factory service guide to.
its about 15 megs.

you desperately need to read one.

I bet you're getting a code 17 mixed in there and thats just a $18 O2 sensor replacement.
