umm unless it was on the swapped engine and the engine is dewsigned for an FB, then you don't have a carburator. Do you mean it idles too low and turns off? Mine does that too unless you warm it by revving the engine to 1500 RPM for about 10 minutes before you go driving. The FAQ has alot of idle fixing problems, I'm gonna have a rotary xpert inspect mine. but check the FAQs and do everything it says for the "May car idles too low or has crappy idle." There are a number of things it could be but with a new engine it may not be serious. Good luck, you may be able to fix it before the buy, if not and you still plan on buying it, it is most likely fixable. after it starts and fires up put your foot lightly on the pedal ot raise the RPM a bit and try and hold it around 15000 to 3000 RPM for a little while and make sure the A/C is off as well. Then if it runs tell me andI'll tell you what the specialist told me.

it may have a vacuum leak like stated above. If you could get the car running at a constant rate, maybe if u rev it alittle? spray some carb cleaner in the engine bay and if the idle changes, u can narrow down where the leak is coming from.
does it crank up? or START up? if it doesnt start up, theres a good chance the car is flooded, which is a relatevly easy fix.

vacuum leak like the others said. i had the same problem with my SE after i took it for some launches n 180s. my air intake gasket had a leak and had to be replaced. so look for it with the carb spray gluck

does it start then die? check your AFM, the thing under your air box, make sure it's plugged in, it has a spring clip holding it in place so don't try to rip it off

Well, it depends on how much you are willing to spend. Many people do not think it is the best car for drifting. First, it doesnt have gobs of power to keep stickys spinning, and it has the DTSS rear-steer that makes it difficult to predict in a drift. It also doesnt have a high turning angle to get sideways much.

I Need help if i should buy a fc 1987 lots of problems
I need advice if i should buy this rx-7 that i went to check out
it is a 1987 rx-7 non-turbo, with a rebuilt and replaced 13b, new clutch, 5 spd, tokico shocks, eibach springs, swaybars. 4 disk breaks
The cons it needs smog and tags for the past 6 months
the clutch gets stuck when you press it down so you must pull it back up, needs new dashboard, calibers, new seats, stolen sterio, powersteering is leaking, really messed up interior floor, needs power window motors, mufflers, A/C leaking, the radiator fan is messed up a bit, tires are out of it so it needs new tires
He' selling it for $1000 dollars, but i told him whats the least he would let it go and said $900 dollars
I don't know what to do and i was planning on giving him $700 dollars for it

IF he has a receipt for the rebuild buy it. most of the issues you mentioned are reasonably easy to fix...but, broken is broken. The new struts and springs are a bonus...that's probably worth $500.00 right there if you put them in yourself, or more if you pay a shop to put them in.

Value Eng it... Even at $700 that is a poor buy.
Quick things to think about. KBB on car $1100 in good shape (+- $400)
Keep in mind a basic tuneup will run you alm ost $200 in parts
That car sounds like a moneypit. walk away.

I'm getting an S4 that needs an exhaust clutch tires and a new/repaired seat for $750, otherwise it runs fine. I would pay anywhere near $1000 for that. I'm sorry, but the only offer from someone i've seen worse is $1000 for a rusty Golf with a seized engine in it.

I'm not buying this crap
I found this car in the recycler newspaper,
and the only reason i went to see it was well $1,000 ,tokico shocks, eibach springs
Thats it.
When i first saw it i was like are you searious
I kept thinking if i buy it i have to do this and that
well it's just money down the drain
And I just found a 1987 rx-7 Turbo II for 1,500 and in super good condition
This is what it has
98K mi, RX7 Turbo, must sell, has passed smog, serious oil leak, but engine is good, new tires, clean title, w/ trbo & temp gauge
Air Conditioning; Cruise Control; Rear Window Defroster; Power Mirrors; Power Windows; Tilt Wheel;
What do you guy's think it is with the oil leak thats serious

most of the time an oil leak is easily repairable but if it is coming from the block anywhere along the upper drivers side corner of the engine front to rear then it will need a rebuild. most of the time it is just an oil cooler line that has ruptured or leaky banjo bolt/crush washers.
