i guess a blew my IC pipe off, right?
i was boosting home late night saturday, i was at full boost (12psi) when i shifted from 2nd to 3rd. after i shifted the car completely lost boost. i realized a sound as if something came off.
i was driving home with no boost then on.
i take it this is a boost leak from the IC pipes?
this would be my first experience, so i figure i would make sure thats what it is.
edit: i haven't looked under the hood since then because ive been busy with schoolwork and studying.

If you still have the stock AFM, you cannot drive without the intercooler pipes being all connected. Belive me. I've done it. I was boosting real good and i just heard a whoosh of air followed by an extreme loss of power. Then my car stalled. I didn't know what was going on. Couldn't start or anything. Popped the hood and my IC pipe blew off. I don't think that'd be your problem if you were still able to drive around. Might be something worse.

yeah because its not creating any boost for the guage, but think about it, its spooling up a whole lot easier and spinning a whole lot faster, recipe for disaster dude

well, if the IC pipe is off, then wouldn't that also mean the other stuff (wastegate and BOV) wouldn't be working since they rely on pressure? Well, the wastegate would still work fine, right?

If you blew an IC pipe, your car WILL stall at low RPMS, trust me, I've done it more than a few times.. Just look at them, its a simple short term fix, you need some t-bolt clamps though.

If there is a major leak on the IC pipes, the car most likely won't run. If it does actually start, it still won't idle because it will run pig rich to the point that it drowns itself in fuel. When I had the latter problem happen, it also made this horrible "whoosing" sound anytime that it was trying to pressurize.

i blew off my pipes on the freeway boosting alot. you would hear the tmic hit your hood if its not bolted down like mines. i lost lots of power but if you stay in the gear and floored it, you are able to keep driving. but barely going very slowly. once you let the rpm drop the motor stalls and will not turn on. its not that bad just make sure they stay on and keep boostin.

turbo thinks it is boosting 0psi, so it is working its butt off trying to pressurize the whole world

turbo spins faster than the speed of light

the car is far from stock, and i dont think it has the AFM. im still new to FCs considering ive only had it for a few months, while i had an FD prior for almost 2 years.
ive never had this kind of problem with the fd mainly because it was near stock.
i have a question though. if i have a leak, would my Apexi boost controller go into boost? whenever i attempted to boost it wouldnt go past +0.00, it would always stay on 0.00 or in vacuum. when im talking about boost, im like maybe a pound or two? when i think if leak, i still think if air still getting through to the engine
you guys are really scaring me on this one haha. i remember the previous owner stated that IC pipes loosen up after a few months of running and i would lose boost pressure. i took that into consideration the past few days and didnt take it into account.
like i said, im gona have to do some major looking. but as i stated, it sounded as if something blew off or came disconnected, like an ic pipe.
nothing sounds broken or anything, so we will see.

You have the AFM unless you have a standalone. Also, it reads 0PSI since you're pulling air from the IC pipe and not the turbo. If I were you, I'd get 4 t-bolt clamps and replace all 4 of the IC clamps, you'll never blow one off again..
