maybe it's time to replace your battery wiring harness
if that doesn't work maybe your alt is going?

If the alt. is dying and the battery isn't holding a charge the car will shut off. Not saying that's the problem for sure but it can and does happen.

But he is saying that it will restart...by popping the clutch... Give us some more information.... Are you on the gas.(accel)..off the gas.(decel)... AC on?

My vert when its cold will shut off when I come to a start sometimes when the AC is on.... However that is not at 65mph...

Anyway- answer the above questions....

That's why the guy said "Starting to take a dive" as in, working intermittently, which is a possibility.
But I've gone through about 5 alternators personally, (although none in the RX7) and they've never been intermittent. When the alternator tanks your battery gauge becomes your fuel tank, i.e. when it gets to e, the car dies.
Actually, I take that back, I had one alternator that only charged the battery above 3000 rpms, so at the light I had to pop it into neutral and keep my revs up, then drop it back into drive to go again.

soo see all my gauges go to 0 rpms and my idiot lights all come on .... then if im rolling i just use the clutch to start it again sometimes i feel boggin like its not getting power then it shuts off ......when im accelereating ...but sometimes on deceleration ...it just dies too going on the freeway ....i got no Ac i took mines off

Everyone in these forums is always blaming the TPS for something. Either it's just a scapegoat or you should change your TPS regardless. Frankly, I don't know.

do you have an aluminum flywheel? It's happened to me a couple of times, I would just clutch in and the car would stall will moving. I've stalled at 65+ before.

You could be losing fuel pressure due to a failing fuel pump, might also be losing electrical power to the fuel pump from a bad relay, also could be losing spark from a failing ignitor or crank angle sensor.....intermittent problems like yours are tough to track down. A fuel pressure gauge connected with a "t" in the fuel line to the injector rails would let you monitor the fuel pump while driving to see if the pump is the target area.

How about you check all your spark plug wires, battery terminals, engine grounds, and alternator ground, and then come back to us?

Loose cables are just plain bad news when it comes to ignition, etc...

If it was a fuel pump problem to begin with, you could check the pump by simply applying some 12v current to it... if it runs, it's good. And you can check the current to the fuel pump by using a tester on two certain plugs in the harness, while you have the ignition on, with a wire in the jumper (the one that makes the pump run and run and run for diagnastic purposes).

It's all in the FSM...

Although, I do sometimes have a similar problem when my car stalls when I come to a stop right after starting the car cold... this is pretty rare and goes away after the car runs for a few minutes (usually just if I go out of gear at the last moment).

Uh yes .... I had this problem once, back when I first got my car a few years ago. It drove me ******* crazy!

It turned out to be as simple as changing out the fuel filter. Definately do that first, it's fairly easy to do, cheap, and good to do now and then anyway. If that doesn't work, then it might be your fuel pump.

Could a faulty ignition switch cause the problem?
