i dun have a solenoid resistor (3800 rpm problem)
k basically i have a 1988 gxl n/a without a 1988 gxl motor. instead the previous owners swapped out motors and installed a 1986 n/a motor. inorder to do this , i dunno why but they spliced the main harness in half so that the harness in the engine bay ( the one on the drivers side is from the 88) and the one on the passenger side of the engine bay is an 86 . since i have got this car running i have never had it pass 3800 rpm without bogging and lagging. i have checked pressure sensor, 5th and 6th ports, o2 sensor, secondary injectors, swapped ecu's, everything checks out ok. basically i am wondering should i have a solenoid resistor for the 86 engine or leave it without one like the 88 engine. Basically if you look under you airbox on the passenger side of the engine rite below the pressure sensor you should find a aluminum resistor pack which were on the 86 to 87 model n/a engines. on the 88 its suppose to have it according to the pictures in the haynes manual but i dun see it in the 88 to 89 wiring diagrams. basically should i have a solenoid resistor and will it help my 3800 rpm problem
