I <3 my FC

So after a long battle against electrical shorts and floodinng problems....IT RUNS!!!!!! Got the stereo installed (finally) stupid yellow wire....it runs now! I went and decarbonized it too for good measure. So i went out driving. Even as a 87 base model automatic, with winter tires..., it handles damn well! i was quite surprised. This was the first time i got to whomp on it....

a few things i got from it though:

1) my god, body roll
2)washer fluid light comes on durng tight turns
3)i need new struts and such (bouncy)
4)even in need of certain suspension piece (bushings are real bad, motor mounts are bad, etc) i still went 115 mph down a back country road and hit 55 through some tight turns. Like i said, I <3 my FC. stupid jetta daily car.....

from talking to a friend that used to install stereos, apparently the yellow wire (or i guess other power-wire; yellow in our case) is the memory wire. i figured my stereo should work with power and no memory, but apparently its common that they dont. for a couple of days i had mine rigged so the power wire connected to both the red and yellow (to stereo), then found a blown room fuse was my problem (easy way to check this is if your room lights dont work!). its hooked up correctly now..
...damn yellow wire.

I used to get the wash fluid light on tight corners. In the winter my brake fluid tank leaks a little and sometimes gets low. On hard corners the brake light would go on too.

Scared the shiznit outta myself at ~60mph coming out of a corner on a back country road and about to enter another. Thought for sure I wasn't gonna slow down when I hit that pedal (I had only had the car ~1 week at this point). Obviously, though, I am still here among the living.

i am going to take care of the suspension issues, like the unuder lack of bushings, and such this winter. Also i am going to get it repainted and have the dents taken out. My boss owns a body shop so it will be cheap, and he knows ill make his life miserable if he doesnt do it good. I figure i can get a few more years out of the roatry in there. Auto to manual is a possible. (seeing i need to put in the 5speed things no matter what.) I put two hundred miles on the car in the last two days just driving around!

fill your washer fluid up, that should stop it from turning on, unless your car is retarted.
