Question How should i RE-do my exhaust?

well with plans of slamming my vert to the floor i need to have my exhaust re-done next week. Currently i am running a racing beat road race header folowed by a rb presilencer then straight piped to n1 replica fart cans. (no smog where i live). the motivation behind redoing my exhaust is because my presilencer is wayyyy too low to the ground with just my tanabe lowering springs, i also want to get away from the fart can look. I plan on keeping my header then having it straight piped to two resonators but back towards the rear dif where there seems to be more ground clearance. so i need to know what type of mufflers i should pick up for the very back, like i said no fart cans.. since the rotary motor is such a hard thing to get to sound good i would like opinions on mufflers. loud is ok as long as it is not defoning. just need something with a good tone.

I'll go ahead and say it since I'm sure everyone else will, Racing Beat. Might as well since you already have other RB parts installed.

im running the rb street header, presilencer and knightsports catback, got a slammed vert on zeal coilovers myself.
gut get a more quiet, less fart cannon catback, keep the header, or run with a street setup

well i know everyone is gonna say go racing beat however i want to be slightly different.. i already have an exhaust guy who will do whatever i want.. some of my homosexual i mean honda buddies are running some smaller magnaflow mufflers and they sound pretty deep for little hondas.. i am fully aware that a rotary motor is a totally different monster but will the same magnaflows sound decent and have a deepish tone to my car?

Just don't use glass-packs. Rotaries make a lot of heat, and will light those mufflers on fire.

I just redid my exhaust, came with the same ebay N1 ebay knock off fart cans and was bothering me for a long time. I came across these "Tsudo" mufflers that have a nice clean look, kind of like the old GReddy exhaust. They are around $70 a piece and appear much more refined, good solid build quality than the soda can look of the N1 rip offs. The heavier metal and larger muffler reduces some of the rasp and buzz that I had had, a very nice deep, racey sound now...

I did find them on ebay but I couldn't find any when I just looked. You can find them here for future reference: http://tsudoperformance.com/index.ph...products_id=60

I'll try to get a sound clip but the cars apart again right now....

now i REALLY nee help finding decent mufflers. had everythong re-done, rb road race header, straight piped all the to the back wheels then a resonater pn each side and i reused my n1 fart cans.. car pretty much sounds straight piped and typical sounding for a rotary... plus side is eveything underneath looks great with plenty of clearance.

so yeah what brand or at least design mufflers will help me?

my opinion is based on years of dealing with **** companies with **** parts, **** people with stupid opinions, and knowing/seeing what works.
also, i try not to spare cost in what i do, i do it right the first time, but research a lot before doing anything
borla makes an exhaust for our cars, it sounds awesome (i have 2 personal friends running borla)
you can buy just the canisters, but i personally recommend the whole catback, you can get it for under $300.
it sounds awesome, isnt stupid heavy, wont blow out like GARBAGE magnaflow/flowmaster/anyotherpospistonenginemufflers

well now that its made all the way back to the mufflers do you think just the canisters would sound bad? what all does the borla cat back consist of to give it its sound? i also dont run cats so my car wouldnt sound the same as just the catback system... would you mind linking me to the canisters/cat back system?

look around, prices change daily, and yes, just canisters would be fine.

wow those tsudo mufflers look great. i used to have a tsudo a few years back. it sounded great on my 7. i only ditched it cuz it was a 2.25 inlet and i upped to 2.5 pipeing so i picked up a shiny new gp sport muffler, which is bad *** btw but is an aluminum muffler and the tip is now kinda oval :/ im planing to change to true duals so im looking for a nice set of mufflers. i have read that an oval canister will give a lower tone than a round one, anyone know the truth behind this? i would give anything to for an audio/video clip of the on a fc

i would love an audio clip as well, hopefully from a similar exhaust setup as mine not just a cat back. also i had ordered a set of the tsudos and they said they were super backordered and couldnt give me a set date, so maybe in the future il try reordering some.

Here in Australia we all run rotaflow mufflers - not much help to you over there.

http://www.exhausttechnology.com/rot..._mufflers.html

They are stainless everything, body and packing

mate and myself made a long center resi from 3" pipe, sliced to hell, slid inside 5" with a shitload of stainless steel washing up pads!
Sounds good, and hasnt really burned up.

Good muffler shop should be able to make you something - you just cant take shortcuts with rotaries...

Yeah I run a rotaflo it works real good lol. But I have heard magnaflow make good gear. You really just want a muffler that's not going to blow apart, rotarys seem to be good at destroying them

magnaflow is ******* crap, you will destroy them so fast with a rotary, specially without a cat serving as a flame arrester
