Will I shoot flames with this setup?

Racing Beat downpipe and cat replacement
I just turned 500 miles on the rebuild. I'm supposed to wait til 1,000 to go hard on it. But when I do, will I shoot flames. That would be so freakin' pimp.

While, you guessed wrong. Please don't provide information based upon "guesses". If yuou don;t know the facts, don't pipe up.

This is a common trick done on cars since the day cars came out. A search on google will provide a huge number of links, and in almost every hot rodding magazine they have at least one write-up a month on this.

6" works.

my car will make nice big flames, but only when i've held the throttle through say most of say second, third or fourth gear and let off (massively explosive pops, blue flashes). NA...my guess is since my AFM is leaned a tad, the exhaust really has to get hot w/ some time on full throttle before it can ignite whatever is leftover.

NA's run stupidly rich, just like turbos.

not to sound like a jack ***..but there is an easy way of doing this...buy the spark plug kit, they come with step by step instructions (there are kits) or by a V8 run your gas really rich and have the exhaust next to headers....it heats up the exhaust causing it to glow and when you step on it and the gas gets lean it cause sparks...

and yes that is a pantera, its my friends GT5(s)

I find that I can make my CBR backfire at will by doing this...

Rev it up real high, hit the kill switch, leave throttle wide open, hit the kill switch again (to turn bike back on), and I usually get a pretty explosive response. With the jetting and the pipe this isn't surprising since sometimes it backfires and sputters at high RPM's while in gear if I shut the throttle real quick.

Not sure if it throws flames or not, I'm usually on the bike when I do this. I'm gonna have to get somebody to watch one day.

But damn... if the CBR did toss a few flames out the fun I'll have when rolling in to meet my riding buddies.

That's my dad in his '63 Impala. 6" from the tips, one plug per pipe, two model T coils wired in the trunk, with a simple toggle switch (fused) under the dash. We also run ether injection with foggers, but that's only if you're crazy. We can sit and shoot flames nonstop until we run out of gas...

He's right I had a bung welded into the stinger on my bug right at the base, about a foot from the end and it worked. the dual delorto's helped though.

Why? Flameballs are cool, but they don't compare to shooting flame.

If you have no cats and your not shooting flames try taking off all the dashpots and messing with the anti afterburn valve thingy
