HOw to run my rebuild?
87 T2 As soon as i hit point on the waiting list, my engine is being shipped to rotary ressurection. Street Port and 3mm Apex seals, as well as all emmisions removal. Ive decided to no go premix conversion. Having to keep your oil system complete and change oil regularly, I dont think the advantages really weigh out oil consumption and the extra effort. Honestly i dont think I can handle it and dont want to neglect it. THAT SAID, with all the emmisions removed, anyone with experience tell me how the best way I should break it in? Also, how is idle? How about flooding and all that stuff. Does it run better without the thermo wax or without. I live in Key Largo and its usually 80 degrees year round or hotter. Winter average mid 60s. This car will be a daily driver for at least a couple months till I can get somethign different. THANKS IN ADVANCE

Idle shouldn't be too bad, dependent on your state of tune and TPS. Flooding on a fresh rebuild can possibly be somewhat of a problem at the very first, however, once the motor gets up to its peak compression (eh, 1500-2000 miles in) flooding shouldn't be an issue. The thermo wax is debateable. Break it in easy, keep the rpm's low. Most of all just get the needed miles on the clock (again, 1500 is probalby okay, 2000 or so would be ideal) and then enjoy your car.
