Is this related to one of those threads about a broken-off spark plug?

People can run without the (I think) trailing plugs, it just leaves more unburned fuel, IIRC. If you're having trouble doing this, maybe you've got poor compression?

yes it has to do with a broken plug and i need to drive the car home. the problem is that the leading is broken and not the trailing

look back at the other thread, about how to remove it. If you're counting on driving the car with a broken/nonexistent leading plug, you're screwed

Yeah but always great threads, like this one, first post I have ever seen about trying to make the engine run on one rotor on purpose. haha

How is it stuck in there? Can we see a pic of the situation?

Actually had me thinking..If he hooked the Leading Spark plug Wire On the Trailing Plug in the Rotor Housing with the Broken plug..Would it work?..(omitting the Trailing Wire on the Bad Housing)

Speaking from no practical experience with this particular situation, but I HIGHLY doubt it.

Problem with this solution is that the trailing plug (with leading plug wire attached) would be firing just after the apex seal was passing the dead leading plug but before it had reached the trailing plug, wouldn't it? In other words, the timing would be hopelessly off.

DO NOT switch the plug wires. The leading and trailing coils fire completely differently, and if you could even get it to run I would think it very dangerous to the motor.

Yeah, it would REALLY mess with the timing. hell, you'd have entirely different timing for each rotor, would you not?

That's like putting a second hand-grenade in your engine bay; the first being a rotary engine!

i'm just thinking about this... what if you hooked up the leading wires to the trailing plugs (runnning on only 2 plugs, just the trailing) then rotated the CAS to advance the timing? I'm not saying the car would run well, but if you were really careful with it, would it move decently?

I'm not sure the ECU changes the leading and trailing timing by the same amount under all conditions though, and I would NOT bet on it either.

maybe you can weld a bolt to the spark plug then heat it up to get it loose...

Start it up and it's what you'll have now......Might need to push start it to spin the motor fast enough.

IIRC leading and trailing advance are pretty parallel, but trailings fire I think about 10 degrees after leadings. I may be wrong, it's been a while since i've looked at the spark settings in my ECU.

DO NOT HOOK A LEADING WIRE TO A TRAILING PLUG!!! The leadings fire a wasted spark, hooking up a leading wire to a trailing plug will cause detonation. Not to mention it won't help any either!!
