Does anyone here have experience removing a Windshield from the FC?
Any advice?

Lol no silly.
I just need to get it replaced because (Shawn22) messed it up.
It just annoys my view. At least he's giving me a free windshield from a vert

Piano wire. Remove the trim and spear through the rubber with a small screwdriver or something very pointy. Run the wire through and use it as a 'cheese cutter' to cut the rubber all the way around. I use a couple pieces of wood to wrap the wire around so I have good handles to pull with.

Its easier if its warm(Miami, you're fine). Practice with the broken one first. Don't touch the edge of the glass with anything, that is the weakest point and one knick will start a crack. Good luck, you will need it.

Thank You.
And just in case I want to have a Body Shop do it. How much should it cost? So I don't get wallet-raped.

Take your car to a body shop, and they will write an estimate. Use the shops crash book, and that shops labor rate to double check his/her work.I believe its an extra 25 dollars for the window adhesive. I hope I'm right because I learned this today in my auto body class. Wish you luck!

I've seen a glass shop remove windshields before. I think they use some kind of reciprocating saw (like a nicer and more precise sawzall)

I charge $130 to R&I a windshield.....thats for labour and urethane/primer.

Lots of methods to cutting them out:

Cold Knife - takes a real man + no previous history of hernias.

Hot knife, same as above but heated (you can take a torch to a cold knife too....)

Wire - as mentioned - should really be done with two people, also very labour intesive.

Large chisel + hammer. Seriously.

Air knife, similar to cold knife but very easy to operate:

OR THE MACK DADDY!! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE ONLY WAY TO CUT OUT GLASS IN THIS DAY AND AGE, The Equalizer

**NOTE** with any of these tools, water for lubrication will make your job easier. If you plan to reinstall the window yourself, buy GENUINE WINDSHIELD URETHANE BY SIKA, ESSEX, OR THE LIKE NOTHING ELSE WILL DO THE JOB!!
