How to remove exhaust?
hey I'm trying to remove my exhaust from the exhaust manifold all the way to the back.
Questions is, which screws do I need to remove?
Should I remove all of it at once or one by one? Can I re-use the "rubber donuts"?
thanks

uhh..
remove it all if you have to.
re-use the rubber donuts if they look alright.
what i would do-
-take off two bolts on exhaust manifold to 1st cat, then take off whatever else you have to. i dont really know what your doin though
best thing i have found to make it easier to reinstall exhaust parts is a big *** pry bar, im talkin 4 feet or more. makes it very easy

ya the movie was pretty funny
The question, on the cats and Y-pipe, there are stuff holding them. Do I remove the screws on the side, or the 2 on the hangers on the top?
I just saw a bigass spider under my car. Now I'm scared to go under it.
thanks!

If it's been awhile since the exhause has been off...
Go to the Hardware Store and buy some spray Rust knocker and soak all the threads well before starting removal. Otherwise, I'll bet you will strip at least one of those suckers. And, one is all it takes to make for a bad day.
Rust Knocker is different than WD 40 as is cuts through the rust as well as lubricate.
Also, my advice, loosen all the nuts between the exhause manifold. Then, take the nuts off holding the Y pipe to the Cat. Then, remove the 4 12mm bolts holding the two rubber hangers on the Y-pipe. All comes apart pretty easy this way.

remove it as one whole piece, if you dont, you will have a hard time re-sealing the rest of the exhaust once you put it back on. Exhaust leaks are a pain in the butt and then you have to buy new gaskets and ****.

thanks!!
I got some 3M penetrant from the Toyota dealer. I hope it'll work good enough. So far I still can't remove the bolts in the exhaust manifold.

Take the two nuts loose on the manifold. Remove the 12 (10 maybe? I forget)mm nuts on either side of the y pipe. Use a prybar to undo all the donut hangers. The pipe going to the cat connects to the intake manifold. You need to block it off somehow. Drop all that **** off in one piece and drag it out from under the car.

thanks guys I got it! Now to wait until Tuesday for my Bonez pipe to come...
BTW what's the tube on the right side? It goes toward the engine and a hose is attached to it.
Do I remove that too?

I've done it both ways. Whole thing at once. Or in sections. I've also had off only mufflers and y-pipe. Or Cats only. etc. Just about any combination you can think of.
You can take it all off at once but it is HEAVY!!. If it is all comming off working from the back to the front seems to work best. Putting it back on start at the front and work back. You can do it about any way you want and it'll work but it may take more forcing the parts around.
The tube to the cat is the split air pipe. Air from the air pump enters the cat through this pipe.
I reused all the rubber bits except one broken one.

Unbolt the muffler to Y-pipe flanges, and the collector to pre-cat flange. I leave the mufflers hanging. Unbolt the hangers from the body. I use a floor jack under (what was the cat) to hold it till everything is loose. The (cats) and Y-pipe will then pull out between the jackstands from any direction.
