Question How much oil useage in other S5's

I'm wondering how much oil per mileage other S5 owners are seeing. I usually only need 1 quart for about 2500 miles, but like it says in the owner's manual it could be up to 1 quart for only 500 miles. What kind of driving would cause that much consumption? I find it kind of amusing that a rotary which is supposed to burn some oil uses less than alot of piston engines which aren't . I'm also just trying to find out if my MOP is working exactly as it should with enough being metered into the chambers. Any numbers out there?

I usually need about 1 quart every 1k-2k miles, depending on wether I AX the car or not.

oil useage is entirly based on how much throttle you use.

If you keep it under 4K most of the time, it is not unusual for you to get 2000 miles a quart.

Faster and harder you go, more oil gets used.

So what your saying is I don't drive hard enough? Actually most of the mileage I get comes from highway around 3500 rpm. It just never seems to change much from the quart per 2500 I usually get, and wondered if it should or not.

Typically I get almost exactly one quart for 1000 miles. Lately though, I've barely used any, I've let up on the throttle due to the rising gas prices. Between the two oil changes (done at 3000 on the nose) I had used maybe half a quart or so.

Well, this may be hard to believe, but since I purchased my '89TII new, I never needed to add oil between the 3,000 mile changes (155,000).

Well then, apparently there's nothing to worry about on my oil injection. I don't usually add any between changes either, since I keep an eye on the level and it always looks fairly clean on the dipstick. It's starting to make all the piston engines I work on look pretty sad on oil usage. Thanks for the numbers guys

I never need to add any.

Yeah, my OMP has been broken since I got the car. Thank god I've been premixing.

Actually why flog the car all the time? Give it a little burst only when you need to! Just don't like to hit 11lbs all the time when not necessary.
Actually I drove a dragster a couple of weeks ago. Maybe Grandma was there, but didn't see her!

Just premix if you're worried about it. Side effect of premix for me is slightly better performance and better gas mileage, 2-3 mi/gal. I left the MOP hooked up. And to answer your origional ques. I use 1/4 - 3/4 qt/1000mi
depending on how much I'm playing.
I've got 88SE n/a

Me too. I've got 175k on an S4 TII, and I go almost exactly 3000 miles on 1 quart used.

If you leave the MOP hooked up on an S5, how much additional 2-stroke oil should you be adding to be entirely sure the seals are being properly lubed?

I use 12oz/fillup of Super Tech TCW from Walmart. If you buy the gallon size and just refill the 12oz bottles it's dirt cheap.
