Actually, it would be more appropriate, if I asked how much have you spent on maintaince parts in the past year? My brother was a former tech @ Mazda so hence labor=free
. Please state whether you own an N/A/TII and also year. Thanks everyone.

About $800 on my N/A but it has 200k miles on it. That includes a new driver side window, oil changes, coolant chages, all fuilds Etc, Brakes. Nothing major (I did swap the tranny .. another $700, but that was by choice)
But I have spent about $6500 so far on my TII but thats a full rebuild and alot of mods.

$3,600, which includes the following:
89 GXL w/turbo tranny
series 5 turbo engine (and rebuild)
turbo lsd
various gaskets/sunroof/pressure sensor/clutch pedals/etc
In the end, it got me a good running turbo2 in my series 5 gxl
That's all for maintanence so far, making the car run!

Not a whole lot, my car has never given me troubles.
Oil changes- 6 @$15= $90
Tune up-
Spark plugs- 4@ $5= $20
Fuel Filter = $17
Total= $127
I did break a radiator hose once, but that was like 2 years ago.

I've spent maybe a couple hundred bucks. Including a new cylinder lock for my door, oil changes/filers, radio antennae, the like. It is(was) a '90 TII. A lot of the stuff that goes wrong you can fix for basically nothing(like CPU soldering and various other fixes)

After the initial costs of buying the car & repairing what ever if buggy, not much else.
Usually little stuff like repairing the power window switch, getting the wiper switch repaired, replacing the anntena mast ($25), new tires, oil changes, 30K mile tuneups, etc..

OIl/filter changes= 3@$25
New radiator(upgrade/replace)=1@$495
sparkplugs=2@$20
Plug wires(upgrade/replace)=1@$50
drivers side window switch=1@$125
recall on automatic seatbelts=1@$0
Transmission/clutch(replace/upgrade)=1@$565
Total=$1350
I thinks that's about it and that doesn't include uneeded replacement(upgrade to performance product). If it is listed and says relace/upgrade that means it was a stock part that failed and I replaced it with a performance part. My car is a 90TII. The motor was replaced before I bought it. Just about everything else is stock and in great condition.

-2 rear calipers- at $336 a peice = $672
-front brake pads = $33
-rear brake pads = $40
-1 Master Cylinder = $190
-machining of the rotors = $9 a rotor = $36
-oil change = $30
-Brake fluid = 4 bottles= $20
- miscelaneous tools for these jobs = $50
Total = $1071 (taxes included)
And the funny part i have only had the car two weeks.

Yeah I went through the same thing. The guy kept up with the engine maintenance, but didn't do jack for the "little" stuff like shocks, struts, brakepads, master cylinder, etc...
Oh well, all used cars go through this anyway
