1990 vert/blk on blk leather, top in perfect condition. CD/Radio does not work, blown amp. Headlights will not go down. Bought it for $2500, w/ a bad motor....I was able to drive it from LA to Sac. Has just dropped in a newly rebuilt engine w/ 93+rotor housing. Finished it today.....ready go fast parts.

$200 83 gsl. 140,000 miles or so. Pretty beat up. Was my first car 6 years ago.
$2100 87 turbo II. 130,000 miles. Just bought it. It runs strong for so many miles. Good body. Only problems were a dented passanger quarter panel, cracked washer fluid resev. and some cracked interior parts. Oh, and the starter just died.

Ok, got all of you guys beat on who "paid the most"...
1987 Turbo II
100% Original Condition, no accidents, no dents, paint basically perfect... 21k original miles - original tires even Paid $8000 and haven't regreted it a bit. Now the car has 52k miles and still has no dents, no accidents, and the paint hasn't changed. Only thing is that it's a bit faster now
Take care,

I got my 87 TII for 3500 with 116,000 miles on her. It'd been owned for it's whole life by some obscenely old woman who had a religious obscession with being fucked in the *** by hayes rotary. It had almost 7k in receipts and everything on her looked and ran brand new. Since then, I've done my best to destroy her/ it's falling apart. I've taken a nearly perfect car (except for some slight damage to the driver's side rear fender and bald tires)
and done the following to it-
-needs new master cylinder/brakes
-blown shocks and springs
-f'd tie rods and ball joints
-klunking rear diff
-no catback
-numerous electrical gremlins (i have to turn on all the interior lights to make the beeping stop... and the lights don't even turn on)
-slipping clutch
-blown turbo seals
-no stereo
-lots of door dings
-lots of jb weld, zip ties, and duct tape
-everything rattles. everything
-forgot to put the hood pins back in after detailing the engine and doing atf trick.... took her for a spin and the hood came up ala Tommy Boy and destroyed itself, the winshield, dented the roof, molested both fenders. God dammit.
-leaky sunroof........ and the list goes on
but i've also done a couple good things
-turboxs type h bov
-intake
-toyo proxes fz4's 245 rear 225 front
This winter i'm going with a partial bp'd motor with haltech and a to4e. It'll be fun come spring. With 400+ hp, I won't care about the fact that my car wobbles at high speed

Black '87 turbo II with blue interior $2,200 - fucked up vaccume lines/shot turbine blades when I got it. Turbo put on the boost, but was crapppy @ spooling up. 1 year later after the motor overheated due to the bottom right water line cracked and busted I rebuilt the motor & turbo & did many upgrades this past summer. All it takes is 1 water line to break and you are fucked!
oh, It had ~71,000 miles when I got it. Squeakey little bugger too! *squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak *
sound familiar?

In 1995 I paid $6500 for my 88 GTU w/54,000 miles in it. Interior was in excellent shape and the exterior was descent. It has since been painted and is currently getting its replacement stock motor at 108,000 miles.
In 1999 I bought an 87 TurboII for $700 that didn't run. Interior was marginal and the exterior was marginal. That car has since been stripped and built to run in FP with a carbed motor. The turbo engine that I pulled out has gone to a friends racecar(www.rotarymiata.com). We suspect the engine was a rebuilt engine and the main reason the car would not run was the old factory wiring harness was is bad shape after the fuel rail caused an engine fire(imagine that).

Post count is over rated
yea it's 7500 but the problem is that when the head gaskt blew ,the original ownr decided to put bigger cams n cam gears so he had to port it to flow more air thru the valves

I bought my 86 N/A for 700$ Canadian with a blown motor. Rebuilt and ported motor ourselves, 5 speed conversion, and new exhaust... Some other small mods probably have about 2800-3500 dollars invested into it now.. Runs good (and fast for an N/A)

Bought my 89 convertible new in 1989 with a couple miles on it. Don't exactly remember how much it was (I can go check the window sticker when I get home), but I think around $24,000. Sound right?

I paid $200 for my 86. Not sure if it's a base or an SE. It has 158K on original motor, exterior good with no major damage, interior in very good condition except drivers seat, of course.

couldve done better but im happy!
i paid $4,500. for my 88 turbo II a little more than a year ago. 84,000 original, bone stock miles. body is straight (a few door dings) man do i hate people who dont care enough for their cars and arent CAREFUL OPENING THEIR DAMN DOOR!!!!!! a few minor rust spots. interior is mint (leather/grey) except for drivers seat, its ripped. car is original orange/red.
i have modded my baby some since i got her. i just want to say that i love these cars. i wouldnt sell her, i plan on making her pump out 400 hp. these cars are arguably the best bang for your buck rides out there. if you dont have one you better hurry!!!!!

I bought my 88' GXL, with 48k on it in May of 2001 for $6400. It is mint inside and out, it was a 1 owner car and the owner was Mickey Morandini who was/is a pro baseball player.

i paid like 600 american for my old 86 NA, but it caught on fire (pulsation dampener I think, or rotten fuel line) last spring the first time I got to drive it (have video of it burning). The only good thing about the whole situation was that I had insurance on the car, so I got close to 4000 dollars for it
I need a t2, asap

well for my FCs:
My dad bought the '86 GXL back in 1991 for $6500 very decent shape.
Then I bought a very fucked up '87 TurboII for "spare" parts for $600.
My last FC was a '91 TII mint $7500 in 1997.
