How much can the stock rear end take?

I'm working on a motor transplant and am wondering if I need to budget for a back half and conversion to a solid axle.

The motor will be in 650-700 hp and will use an automatic with a transbrake. I'm pretty sure I'm going to need to re-gear it. This is my first venture with these cars and need some advice.

I know the turbo rear is stronger but how strong is it? Is it valuable and what is it's worth on the market?

Thanks!

You sure the n/a can handle 400hp? I'm running around 225-230 (i think, check sig) with stock GXL lsd rear end and it broke 2 weeks after my TII engine was installed. (all it took was one hard launch at 4k).

I don't know about the stock NA rear handling 400 rwhp.

I know the stock TII and FD rear ends can handle some serious power - many of the guys running up to 650 rwhp is with the stock rear end (with LSD of course).
I don't know how much power it's limit is though, I imagine on a 13B I wouldn't want to go over 600 rwhp myself.

Do you mind if I ask what engine you are going to be running?
