How many miles is on your car?
Just curious, with me about to buy my first RX7, how many miles could I expect out of it?
it's allready high mileage, and I want to make sure i'm not going to have to drop a new engine in it in 2 months.

i am legendary
My 88 GXL had 150k on it running great with 100 compression on both rotors before I decided to port (and rebuild) it. Not because of bad running, but for power.
My 90 FC I'm picking up has 135k on the clock still runs with bad oil control ring.
My friends 88 TII has 185k with all original parts still running, just not well (high mileage for a TII with original motor and turbo).
My friends 87 (I think) GXL has 130k (somewhere in there) with original everything and runs perfect except the auto tranny is busted.

128K on 87 NA.........Rotory specialist told me to expect 160 before rebuild. Bought it at 80k four years ago and i treat it better than my fiance.....the fact that it is an automatic helps too because there is only so much abuse i can put on the engine.

i know it has a new transmission, i just have to finish up and check on the other things. I want to make sure the engine is going to last me a while, i would hate to have to buy a new engine, especially since I can't afford it with college fees and tuition.
oh, btw, its a N/A 1989 RX7 Non-Turbo, Non Convertible, just a plain one with a 5spd tranny.

Approaching 170k on my '87 sport. Origonal engine, as far as I know. I'm the 3rd or 4th owner. My '87 base AT had over 160k on the chassis, and maybe 40k on the rebuilt engine before the tranny went pop. Now it's the parts car.

My '89 n/a has 237,000 on the origional engine, third transmission and second clutch. Its my dd and it is almost all highway miles w/2 600 mile roadtrips in the last 6 weeks. I ran 130mph + for 20 miles on US 36 two weeks ago.
