Luckiest person i've known ordered a plain jane D-series front clip for his Civic Hatch and ended up with one that had a lot of Spoon and other quality performance parts (intake manifold, headers, brakes and who knows what else). The thing still runs strong.
I have never swapped a JDM motor myself, but if i ever do get the itch i'll be going JarcoInc or Osaka. I've heard so many good things about both of them, and Jarco even sends you a video of the car driving around the lot in Japan before they pull the motor/chop the front and ship it.

They never had N/A's and yes they had auto's.... I ordered an S5 engine and got a friggin S4 from an automatic. Haven't had enough money or time to get everything to work right in my S5 TII.....

Most of the time they are the best motors available for rebuilding since they have such low miles... occasionally you'll get screwed over and get one that's siezed up or all rusted out from sitting in a junkyard for too long.
