my best 60FT n/a on street tires was 2.0
my best 60FT T2 on kumho 712's was 1.8
i launch off the rev limiter and just drop it. always get the best 60 FT for me that way.... breaks alot of expensive but that is part of drag racing

this is right and wrong. you dont want to shift when power reaches its max, you want to shift so that you put "the most power under the curve" in each gear which will mean shifting a little bit after max power. however, on an s4 na that probobly will be about 7200 rpm.
my technique is to slip at about 4000. realy you dont want to drop the clutch on an n/ a unless you have the suspension dialed in to stop wheel hop and you have the budget to break your whole driveline sooner or later. n/a drive-lines are weak. i know i could do better from about 6-7k but my clutch is on its way out and can only handle under 4500, but it bogs at like 3500 so its a real PITA to get a good launch with my car right now.
the whole point is to get as much power to the ground as your engine can give, your driveline can transfer and your tires can grip, keep that in mind and just experiment.

Best way I've found is to rev to 5k and slip the clutch kinda quickly, but be careful not to be too quick. Car will launch and may wheel spin at the top of the rpms, but dont shift quite yet cause then it'll catch traction and the rpms will fall a tad then shoot back up and at 7k, SHIFT! Run through 2nd and etc.

90 Vert with original bbs rims out back. I launched at 6800 rpms and shirted at 7800 rpms. Cmon dDuB, not lowering the tire pressure at the track...why not. Well I had to lower the pressure in mine to about 17 psi since the track felt a little slick than some of the streets we drag race at. Ive had over 100 runs at Houston Raceway Park, with various mods. When my vert was completely stock. I wouldnt loss traction for anything. But with an exhaust and intake, I had to lower the tire pressure to continue a 6k rpm+ launch. I used to always skip the water but then i learned how to actually get the tire hot. As a rule of thumb that a older felloe told me. If your tires make that chirpping noise after your burnout, then there sticky. Thats my .02
