I heard that most FCs redline to 7500 and then goes down. Can yours go all the way to 8000?

i've had mine up to 7500 and it would have gone hella more man. I just didn't want to break anything After you get some good exhaust i think it would do past 8000

I have just a streight pipe exaust no heads , intake and removed sleeves and wired vdi high.
I reved to 8500 in second and I should go higher when I get done porting this manifold.
First gear feels like I can go to 9k but would be no benifit right now. I have the 89-91 GXL

i dont like to ever rev past redline im afraid its too hard on the engine. well is it okay to rev past redline or what? if i rev to like 7500 or 8000 will it damage the engine? or do you guys only do this once in a blue moon.

An occasional run to 7500 won't hurt it. However, you should not ever go over 8500, clutch explosions are nasty. I don't see why people rev the **** out of their S4's, especially stockport ones. It doesn't do anything but wear out your rotor housings faster...
I shift my TII at 6500, the boost is starting to drop off by then anyway...

yes on an N/A 89-91 its ok to ocasianaly go 8000 or 8500. Anything after 8500 is really bad. If anything past 8000 thou was really bad then u think mazda would make redline at just under 8000 right. So a little past 8k is ok.

My car makes power up unitll over 8500... I usually shift around 8700 or so... sometimes more, sometimes less. 1st gear ~9000, 2nd, 8600, 3rd, 8500.....

Ive hit the rev limiter a few to many times, it just comes too fast in 1st gear. My car pulls like crazy until the rev limiter stops all the fun. I usually shift at 85-8600 on the tach, which is closer to 8400 actual rpm. My rev limiter hits at an indicated 8800 rpm.

Well, I have only heard it, never actually seen it hit. Both times I was taking a turn too fast, cut the tires loose, and bounced off of rev limit. Good info to know.
