How do i remove the recliner handle from the seat without breaking it?

Ok so i wanna do a few things to my seats, and i cant seem to figure out how to remove the handle from the recliner lever. Is it in there with springs or what? Or do i have to break it to get it off and then buy a new one. My guess is that they want like $2000 at the dealer for one so i would rather not have to get one (two) unless i have to.

And for you that have no clue what im talking about its the lever on the bottom/side of the seat that you use to adjust the positon of the back of the seat. NOT the little lever on the GXL seats that adjust your butt up and down. (that one is a screw )

I recovered a seat couple years ago. I'm sure I just gently pryed that plastic lever off. (Memory loss is a terrible thing.........)

I took a small block of wood and used it as a punch with a small hammer. Just tap it forward off of the lever.
