How to depin/repair harness?

How to depin/repair harness?
Ok, for one I seem to have run out of luck and have a legitimate electrical gremlin.
I installed cruise control today and everything seems to work except one wire to the actuator doesn't have continuity... so it doesn't work.
(the other bits work fine but I get a Code 1, which means broken wire, bad actuator, or bad stop switch, and the acuator and stop switch test OK... and any issues means the system won't work.)
So how should I go about 'repairing the harness.'
Major repair work on a harness literally seems like brain surgery in terms of difficulty, since it's basically impossible to find where the wire is actually broken...
But how do you depin/repin the CC unit connector, anyway?
I guess I'll just have to ghetto-rig another wire outside of the harness...

Also, what the heck is an L/O wire?
It seems to be blue with an orange stripe, and strangely enough it has continuity with the green and yellow wire that seems to be broken...
It's the 3rd wire from the top left of the connector.
I've also got continuity with the blue wire.
It turns out both wires go to the stop light switch connector...which has no sensor.
(doh, I didn't realize it was different)
But the cruise control unit still seems to recognize when the brake pedal gets pressed.

Mmmkay...
This time I properly jumpered the stop switch (not sure if I was doing it right before) and butchered the green/yellow wire so I could ghetto-rig it with a long separate wire.
And then the switch didn't even work... doh.
Which makes no sense at all...
I reattached the wires again, cutting out a section of the wire in the engine bay that looked kinked...
And now suddenly the cruise control works, but that wire still doesn't have proper continuity (no sound but a number pops up for a second and goes away).
Although, it seems kind of intermittent. Weird.

Doh...
I just realized that the green/yellow wire on the connector isn't the same green/yellow wire that goes to the actual actuator.
I apparently have a severely intermittent wire or something somewhere, since everything checks out OK.
