I don't know about the turbo cars, but on an NA the coolant actually comes from hoses that are connected to it, not from the manifold.

sorry to dig up a semi-old thread, but would this method work using the coolant bypass line off the back of the water pump?

Assuming that line has a constant coolant flow (I can't remember off the top of my head) then it should work fine.

And yeah, the snow was crazy. We had people making snow rabbits because it was the day before Easter.
