How can I tell if my speedometer has been wound back?
I have an 88 T J/spec Import with almost 71Km's on it, it seems quite low for a 15 yo car is there anyway to tell if its been wound back. I had the speedo open and cant see anything obvisous, was just hopeing one of you guru's out there may know.

If the 20K switch does not match the odometer would be the first thing I would look at.
I also would look at the C clamps (on the Odometer rods at the number wheels) to see if there are scratches on them (there won't be if it is stock)

Ummmm..... just a comment, ODOmeter, not SPEEDOmeter. Unless you aussie's call it something different
EDIT: It also may be broken. My dads saturn has a broken odometer, it's been recording wrong for many months, he didn't notice because it's still moving just probably at about 1/10 the right speed. You might want to check that too.
