How can I improve my Gas Mileage Please help

If you guys remember my dyno runs, (with wideband) you'll notice that it made great hp and a decent a/f ratio, but still a tad rich until about 4,500. After 4500, it would just go down the tubes. By 6k, it would be so rich, that the car would start hesitating.
No idea why the computer thought i was flowing so much air at anything above 4,500. But the s-afc has since fixed it.
Fuel milage has alot to do with exaust according to Rob@Pineapple. I do know that i have a realy free flowing/effeicent exaust. Otherwise i would'nt have made peak power at 8000rpms. Looking back, it might have made even more power higher, but i decided that it was'nt worth beating on the engine. So, i just took it to 8000. Not that i'm scared to take it up higher, but the fact that the motor was running way to rich...so why abuse it? Since the s-afc install, i've had a couple run in's with the rev-limiter. The max rpm i try to shift at is 8,500, as stock apex seals are in the danger zone after that.
I've getting married this next week and currently having a house built, so i have to slowly save up for my next dyno session when i'll have the s-afc tuned in.

I have new plugs, new oil light oil. I do not drive it hard and only drive it on highway.
I do have the 4k hesitation and bumpy idle when warming up. but once warmed up and I come back from a drive it it idles fine. oh ya did I tell you that my brakes my take 900000 lb of force to brake, inspected the master cylinder and looks like it is brand new.
helppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp.

As for high fuel consumption (assuming no connection to the brake issue), I would suspect the Water Thermo Sensor in the water pump housing. I had one of these go bad and it caused high fuel consumption by telling the ECU that it should be in warm-up mode. This is just a "usual suspect", but just about any sensor can trick the ECU into doing something weird. Air Flow Meter (AFM) and pressure sensor are other likely suspects.

Must...scrub...parts...
Check and make sure your spark plugs are wired correctly. Some dumbass at the dealership I took my car to switched the leading wires. I suppose it ran pretty well all things considered, but I was getting really crappy gas mileage until I figured out . Also, be careful if you install any extra ground cables. I once switched my battery and somehow managed to forget to reconnect a 4 ga. ground and left it loose. Later that day I made a quick lane change, the cable hit something, and I fried my entire ignition system.

Check your 6ports.
Every time I get a car that needs the intake system cleaned and the 6port sleeves unfrozen, after i regasket and re-hose the vaccum lines i removed, the car gets about 20% better milage.
I would put big money down that says this is your solution.

i have a 88 na vert too an the gas mpg sucks also. when stopped at a trafic light the fumes will burn your eyes. i can't find what it is / uless it is the injectors leaking or not getting the right sigs from the ecu. on the brake thing have you tried to bleed them may have air in the lines, might help. good luck.

1)full tune-up(replace all filters and change spark plugs, check timing, idle, etc.)
2)clean your fuel injectors
3)maybe even replace your O2 sensor
the "regular" mileage is 17city/24highway
