Housing questions

I am in the process of rebuilding my 13b n/a (from an '88 gxl) and i have a repair manual, but nowhere in there does it talk about honing the housing walls (like you would do with a typical internal combustion engine). I also have very minor wear on my front, rear and mid housings (to the point that i can see where the rotors moved). do those need to be machined down at all, or are they ok to use again?

any help would be appreciated. any more questions feel free to ask

thx

If you have strips of chroming missing from the housings, excessive chattering marks, or grooves that you can catch a fingernail in, it's time for replacements. Check around the plug holes for chattering as well as cracking as well.

The side irons only need to be machined if they have grooves deep enough to catch a fingernail on, otherwise they are pretty much good to go.

Its very common for you to see the wear marks from the side seals. Like everyone else said.. If you cant catch the grooves with your fingernails then your good to go.

thx for the help
tolerances are all ok, no catching with my fingernail at all.

does the housing need to be "honed" at all? or can i just clean it up with a typical cleaner?
