hot weather flooding?

OK, I have a 87 N/A regular rx7 with about 169,000 miles on it. Granted I don't have at my disposal too many diagnostic tools, I do have some. My car, quirky as it may be is the first rx that I have ever had to give me this much trouble. I regularly deal with it running fine one moment and then it proceeds to flood itself as noted by the trailing plugs are soaked with gas when this happens. I use rx7.com's short method for unflooding and it starts up and runs for a few blocks and dies or acts like it is running so rich that unless I shut it off I will start the car on fire. This actually happened to me once before I realized what was kinda going on. I have tested the AFM, the coils, replaced the atmospheric pressure sensor that was almost dead, tested all those color coated check valves that have those little filters on them on top of the engine. I have replaced the fuel filter and the problem seems consistent now when it is warm outside. Yes I have noticed that my engine runs way too hot. This weekend I am going to flush my cooling system and see what happens. I read a thread on here about testing the fan clutch and it is good. I need help, I love rotaries but this one makes my head hurt.

You should do a compression test.

Go to tech and then pick compression check.
