Hoses

Hey, I've got an 88 NA RX7 coupe, which I bought off a guy in ohio. He tore the engine out because of a water leak, only to find a freeze plug out. 6 months later he decides to sell the car and I step in.

Since then, I've replaced the freeze plug (all of them actually), and have done various other things to get the engine back in. It currently is back in and I've started the arduous (spelling anyone?) task of reconnecting everything he labeled ever-so-poorly (2 things on the AC and thats all).

Despite my life story, this post actually has a purpose:
Is the "HOSE TECHNIQUES" hose kit off the cork sport website any good? Because let me tell you, the engine bay is pretty freaking disgusting. And I'm not sure if i have all the proper hoses. The last thing i want is to have put everything back, only to have find out that the car won't turn over because i lost one or something.

I guess what I'm really asking is:
1) Does anyone have a hose guide that doesn't suck as much as the Haynes manual.
2) Does the corksport hose kit have all the hoses I'll need?

Thanks for anyhelp!

If you're just looking to replace all of your vacuum hoses, just go to hosetechniques.com and order like 20 ft of the 3mm vacuum hose and don't forget to get the upper and mid intake gaskets. And set aside a couple hours on a saturday. It's not too hard, I just did it last night.

The hose techniques kit is nice. You'll have plenty extra. They dont come precut, they come in spools and you just cut the length yourself. Just take your time and do each hose one at a time. factory service manual at http://www.cochran-racing.com/FSM/index.html

I mean, does it have all the hoses I'll need to redo the entire engine bay? like vacuum, fuel, coolant, etc? Because that's what I'm really looking for, and going to the dealship for these hoses would be the equivalent of selling my kidneys and a fresh pint of blood. We're talking the cheapest hoses from the dealership being 20 bucks here. I just want a kit that has what I'll need.

You dont use silicon hose for oil, fuel or coolant. You can use silicon hose for the hose going from the rad to the overflow tank. www.mazdatrix.com for water hoses. For fuel lines just go to your local autoparts store and pick up high pressure fuel injection hose. Dont buy the carburated fuel lines, they will burst on you. The hp FI hose is pretty expensive.
