Horn Repair/Did CPU Already

I pulled the CPU today on my N/A and de-soldered, then re-soldered the pins for all the connectors. After reinstallation, I still have no horn. I had checked the fuses awhile ago, all were OK. Can anyone give me some ideas on how to proceed from here?

When you re-soldered everything did you remove the old solder first with either a solder sucker or braid?

Sometimes is you just reflow the joint, if it has already been intermitent for a while, corrosion and a poor connection does not alow a reflow to work. When ever resoldering something its always best to remove the old solder and then flow in new solder

You could have a burned connection on the board. I had to resolder EVERYTHING before mine started to work correctly. Even then I had to go back and put a pile of solder in one particular area that kepting burning itself off.

Yes, I was very careful to make sure all the old solder had been removed, took extra time to make sure it was gone. I didn't do anything other than where the harnesses connected, but had a feeling the rest would probably be necessary. Guess I will have to go back and do the rest of 'em now. Thanks for the info.

Jumper 12v to the green wire with a red stripe on the CPU plug. The green and red wire should be on one end of the connector. The horn should honk. If not you have a open b/t the CPU and the horn or a busted horn. If that worked, put your meter on ohms and get a good ground for the neg and put the pos lead on the green and orange wire. That wire is right next to the green and red wire. Push the horn button. You should get a ground. Try both buttons. No ground means you need to investigate the horn buttons. If you do get the ground and you got a honk during the first test, then go back and fix your CPU. You should have 12v on the green and white wire for power for the relay, a ground on the green and orange wire when the horn button is pressed, and an output at the green and red wire if the button is pushed and the relay pulls in.
