Engrish?
if you use an aluminum hood, (turbo or non-turbo versions) you must also change the hinges and latch.
All the FC hoods (regardless of construction) are interchangeable other than that.

no difference. the spring on the latch of cars with steel hoods is wound tighter than that of the spring on the latch of cars with aluminum hoods. if you have an aluminum hood with the steel hood spring, the hood will not shut when you drop it. you'll have to press on it, possibly denting it eventually.

Steel hinges against an alum hood will start an electrolitic action and the alum will start rotting.
You can try putting a couple of heavy coats of paint or a sealer, but I have seen a lot of hoods rotted unless the correct hinges were used.

They're identical except the aluminum hoods are substantially lighter.

If weight really is an issue then you want to use a non turbo alum hood. They are lighter than the turbo alum ones.
And don't forget you occasionally see steel turbo hoods

20lbs equates to 0.68xxx% of the total weight of the car. To spend 200 dollars on a hood plus another 150 for shipping costs its worthless use of money. If you take that and put it into something to make your car have more horse power you will have used your money more wisely. Plus N/a's don't deserve a Turbo Hood. Its named that for a reason.

Please explain why an n/a doesn't DESERVE at TII hood. This should be good.

For the same reason you would not put a TURBO II sticker on an N/a. For the same reason I wouldn't put a 4X4 emblem on my 2wd F150 for the same reason you wouldn't put a GT tag on a V6 mustang. Its a designating peice for the TII. Everyone knows it. Its name implys turbo. No turbo no hood.

Just like SE's don't deserve power windows and doors?
And kinda like how the S4 shouldn't have S5 back lights saying how your telling people if you have a NA you have a stock 165 hp instead of a stock 145. And if your turbo a stock 205 instead of 185.
Sort of like how FD's shouldn't get the hit Japanese ftps, after all thats saying you have a jspec model, and thats just wrong.
Instead of using politics, TII hood weighs less then steel hood, if someone were to acquire to acquire a TII hood more easily then a NA Aluminum then who cares.
Doesn't deserve a TII...sorry doesn't work for me. If someone were to replace their alum hood with TII its arguable sure. But com'n.

A TII hood just increases airflow and cooling...
how can it not be good on any RX7 regardless of being turbo or not?
So if someone makes their own scoop or installs an aftermarket scoop on a non turbo, you will scream 'sacriledge!!'?

The fact of the matter is that an AL hood is a "performance hood" compared to a steel hood. So whats wrong with putting the performance part from a TII onto an n/a?
Is it stupid to put GXL hubs and wheels on your base model? Because God forbid someone actually believes its a GXL and they're disappointed by the lack of power features inside the cab.
I understand where you are coming from, but don't put others down because they want to lower the curb weight of their FC.

PS-Fell free to back your claim up with cooling numbers before and after a TII TURBO HOOD installation.

There is a very distinctive difference between power windows and a turbo engine. The TII is by far a much higher model than any of the N/a's. But I would equate it to having a GTUs sticker on my Base model. Its simply rice. Its posing to be something that your not. You could spend that money on acutall power adder parts and get more performance from your money. And not be a poser.

Hmm I highly disagree. A sticker is there specifically to indicate a model/class i.e. rice. If I were to put I HAVE TURBO sticker on my car then yeah thats really sad.
But visually the TII looks awesome, my last NA had a steel hood, and this one came with a TII hood. There is no question on which visually looks better. Most poeple don't know what a rx7 is anyways, even with my old NA people would ask "Is it turbo!?". Sooo for the most part your not really screaming I have a turbo.
If you can tell me the TII hood does not look in any way better then a NA hood, and thus has no benefit not even aesthetic then ok.
I still hold the same arguement about s4 to s5 because to quote you theres a distinctive between a s5 and a s4.

I beleive EVERY ONE of us here knows that the Turbo hood means TURBO UNDER THE HOOD! The NAME says it!
And the TII hood is not asthetically better. Its in the way for me. and I don't like S4 to S5 conversions either if thats what you ment. S5 tails on the S4 is also rice.
