Hmmmm...that "Honda" bumper is a horrible fit. I had no idea though that they had a Porsche Turbo bumper for Hondas though. I'm trying to think of a car it'd look good on...well if you did something with the rest of the FC front end it would work, but I'm not sure about the rest though. FD it'd be fine cuz it's rounder.

yeah man, very well done. you are pretty good at all that body work.. i showed my cousin your progress, he is going to make a body kit for his 85 318i... yes a 4 banger bmw.. lol
anyway, when he's done it 'should' look good.. or could be a complete goof up.
by any means. good work

I am about to spray primer on the whole car. I spent the last week and a half fixing the dings and dents on the rest of the car, removing the doors, sanding down the door jambs, etc. Hopefully I will have a pic or two of the bumper on the car, all primed, in a few days.

I have thought about a chin spoiler. The main reason I didn't do one is because I want this damn car finished so I cut some corners.
I can't find a way to get the paint shops around here to find a color chip close to the color I wanted so I looked at factory vehicle color codes. You guys are going to hate me for this but I have decided to use Ford Zinc Yellow, found on late model mustangs. Sorry guys, but it is just a really good shade and I don't care if Mustangs use it!

In other words, I am a hardcore weight reducing fool who last rear-ended someone many, many years ago so I am trusting that it won't get smashed.
The latch will bolt to the flimsy metal top piece. I tested it before making the decision to remove the center piece that goes down under the stock black shroud pieces. It is flimsy but holds the hood fine. The fiberglass shroud seen in one of the pics is absolutely rigid and I think it will add much stiffness when bolted to the latch mount bar.
yep, those are gsl-se wheels. I chose them because they weigh only 13lbs each. I also got them with the victoracers locally for $125 so I couldn't pass . . . The car is sitting so high right now because it weighs about 2000lbs or less . . . no engine or interior in it.

I haven't checked but judging by the stripped and heavily modded Firebirds and trans-ams in CP where I will probably run, I would guess I would get through.
All the techs check for is battery hold down, wheel bearings tight, seat belts, no loose items in the car that will fly around and hit you in the face, etc. It is not as bad as I thought it would be. I breezed through tech with my integra even with a cracked windshield.

thats awesome, coming up with your own design and then you actually accomplishing it other than painting thus far. I just wonder if you have much experience with fiberglassing, it seems you do from what you were able to come up with. Can't wait to see the final results, good job bro!

Thanks. I have a little experience with fiberglass doing model airplane parts but nothing big like this. I just decided to take the plunge and go for it and it was actually more time consuming than difficult. The hardest part was just making the committment to keep working on it every day after coming home from work. It is all about persistence when you do projects like this. Skill comes from experience, but you have to jump in the fire and experiment sometimes in order to get experience.
Fiberglass is just like paper mache: You make a shape to start from, get the glass cut roughly to what size you need and then get it wet with the resin. Then you just put it on the form and smooth it all out with a stick and bondo spreader. The hard part is all the smoothing and filling later, when you are getting it ready to paint.

I want to. I would call the company FCstyle.com and sell them for under 200 bux for a complete fiberglass skin to replace the OEM plastic one. But college is about to happen for me and I am too old to put it off any longer.
