Bonez are designed for the higher heat the rotarys produce. They are available in up to 3" sizes, and flow massively. I had one on my NA in 2.5" and loved it, and am putting a 3" on my turbo II. You can get 'em for $200-250 at rx7.com.

i live in FL so there isn't any smog. does that mean that getting the RB downpipe for my 91 N/A would be better than a high flow cat?

Well legally, even though you do not have to smog your car in FL you are still supposed to keep all smog equipment on the car. A cat is a restriction so not having one is better in several ways.

Definitely, from a power perspective. Get the presilencer too, so it mates up nicely and isn't so loud you go deaf. Plus its stainless.

I think its something like a fed reg. not to tamper with a working emissions control system. But what if its not working?

Not positive on this but I think you are required to keep smog equipment in working condition.
