hey everyone.
i'm new here, as you can probably all tell. i am in need of a new car, and i WAS thinking of getting a hatch or some other type of honda that was already boosted, but i started also looking at 7's.
this thread is mainly for you guys to help me out. please tell me why i should get a 7 instead of a honda. other than how much cooler 7's are

Well hondas are made for gas mileage and reliablity, not speed. If u have to ask yourself wheather you should get a honda civic or an rx-7, get the honda.....

Because if you can't search or figure it out on your own, you probably won't be able to work on the car yourself, and finding good Mazda mechanics are few and far between, where as there is some idiot who can work on a Honda in almost every city in North America.

I love my RX-7 I didn't need to figure out what kind of car I wanted. I just got it. I've already had experience in working on cars, and this car was simple for me. For you to ask what type of car to get. haha, just got withe the 4 banger! Honda powa! lol! 4 banger would be your best bet! lol

I mean common, you are talking a FWD economy car vs a Sports Car.
They just are not even in the same league.
So if you can't see, understand, or feel the difference, you should stick with your Honda. Because you will be bummed by the 17 MPG when you compare it to your economy coupe. You will be bummed at the high price of parts when compared to your economy coupe.
Owning and understanding a sports car, means that the feel of driving is more important than those things. This is something that... again if you ask

Mark is being nice about it. At least nicer than what I would normally say.
you want us to point out all the good points for the FC when in reality the good points come after you take care of ay and all weak points. If you buy an RX7 then you're DEFINITELY buying yourself some work. The newest FC is going to be 15 years old and you MUST know that as things age they break, become brittle or just stop working. If you really want to know whether or not you should buy an RX-7 then I recommend the following:
Stop posting, and begin reading the first page of the entire second gen section and continue to click on the other pages. We're here to try to figure out and solve problems we encounter and SOMETIMES (very rarely actually) we post about the great things about the RX7 but it's mostly because because most of us are complainers. By reading the forum (i believe some of us call it research) you'll understand and see what issues we have with the car.
From the little I've read I just don't think you're ready to buy an RX7. Not because you suck (even though you really haven't proven otherwise) but mainly because you don't know what you're getting into.
As mark said: if you have to ask then you most likely shouldn't do it. You're not going to enjoy jumping head first into a 2 foot deep puddle.
READ READ READ and don't post again. The only times you should post in the technical section is when you need an answer to a problem or our opinions on a car you're looking to buy but even then you'll find that almost anything you can think of has already been thought of and asked already.
man that was a good lunch. I'm all relaxed and calm.
