see why we hate it?

Those sub plates I built sound awesome, unless you want the bass to be heard loud and clear OUTSIDE the car too. The subs can distort at extremely high volumes, but you can't even yell over the radio at that high.
Inside the car, on the highway at 3200 rpm, the subs sound perfectly clean. No distortion when not pushing the subs beyond normal listening levels.
That large amp to the left is the Infinity Kappa 202a. 200W x 2 @ 4 ohms. I have it run in stereo pushing two of those subs. The other plate is on the other side of the hatch, symmetry.
I will be moving the amps in a couple weeks, after exam week here at college. They are getting hidden under the cargo hatchs behind my seat.
Thanks to vaughnc for the pics.

<------Knows nothing about sound systems and all these words are confusing me
You Y split the preamp outputs - that'll add noise to the setup. Go buy a 5way crossover/eq/gain processor NOW!!!! (or a kenwood 1in 3out EQ/crossover/sub volume head unit)

Vaughnc, I am sure the amp have somekind of filter build into them. I agree with you on the crossovers or EQs, but if you have a limited budget, Y splitter works just fine. I run one, the system is noiseless.

Thanks guys.
I should find that pic of my dash. I am using a JVC KD-LX50 head unit and an 11-band Kenwood equalizer to distribute the sound accordingly.
The smaller amp of the two is an Infinity Kappa 102a (100W x 2 @ 4 ohms) and is bridged to power all my interior Infinity Reference speakers. 5.25" doors and 6.5" rears. The two wires that are taped off in the pic are the front RCA cables that aren't being used at the moment due to the bridging.
I plan to pic up a second 102a or a 52a if possible, but they are scarce now a days. The second amp will power the fronts and those RCA cables will once again be used. Ebay is the only place to find them and it can be risky to buy a used amp from there.

If anyone is curious about the sub plates as I call them. Get a piece of 3/4" plywood/chipboard, something like that. Measure the top and bottom widths of the plate between the shock tower and the rear of the hatch.
Cut the piece out. Taper the top lip to a 20 degree angle. Trace the upper ledge to fit as close to the interior's natural curvature as possible.
Pound a nail in the center of the hole that you want the sub to fit into. (8, 10, or 12) and place a string with a pencil to draw the sub hole. Cut it out.
Spray adhesive and carpet to the board, wrap the excess carpet around back and staple to the back of the wood.
The sub opening should also be covered. Puncture a hole through it and cut into pie shaped wedges. Fold through the hole and spray adhere/staple as well.
Install subs and listen to the beauty.

Mr Rotary
My previous post, about the sub plate, describes quite well how to build those enclosures to make the subs sound good and stay out of the already small hatch area.
Hell, now I can toss my golf clubs in the back and have my stereo too!

Yeah, MTX makes some nice metal 10" speaker grills.
I saw them at the local Sears for 4.99 each. I will run home and throw a pair on when I start working again. Until then, I am verrry careful with how I toss stuff in back there.
