Here is a new one!Who would have figured!
Got the new ported motor in,hardly ever drove it far enuff to really get it hot yet.Well today I take it for a spin and when i stopped to get gas i see coolant all under the front of the car.I get back in drive it a couple of miles stop again.Same thing but car never got hot.I am freaking out. When i get her home she did start to climb a little but not much.I figured its the thermostat.I change it--take off again.bamn ,same thing now I am starting to wig out.But for some reason i start to dick around with the overflow tank.I had taken it out before to clean it.I dont know why but something told me to reverse the hoses on the top. When i did this.Problem taken care of.After all that ****---I cant believe that those hoses coming in and going out on the top of the overflow tank could do that much ****.Anything like that ever happen to you guys.

You mean you swapped the inlet and outlet hoses???
Yeah, the inlet hose connects to the inner hose when leads to the bottom of the reservior. The other bent hose leads to a hole at the top of the cover. The inlet is to allow the cooling system to vent extra coolant into the overflow but to allow the cooling system to suck it back in when it cools down. The outlet is just to allow too much extra coolant to basically dump on the ground if it fills the overflow up too much. If you swapped them, the extra coolant from the cooling system would enter the overflow, but when it tries to suck it back in, it would suck just air - and that would cause all kinds of headches! Congrads on doing some great detective work!

i did exactlty the same thing after cleaning the resevoir and changing the coolant. low coolant buzzer kept going off and on and coolant was leaking all over the ground, couldn't figure out what the hell was wrong. i felt like kicking myself when i realized what i'd done.
