Hey guys Im testing my tps sensor and adjusting it tonight and i am sorta cuntfused... I first unpluged it and tested it that way and adjusted it..everything was fine, i plug it in and the readings are diffrent, So im like OK maybe it needs to be pluged in for me to test it. So with the Car OFF and tps Plugged IN i plug the leads in thru the back. and adjust it agian. it is at 1.00 ohms at idle but when i hit the throttle it go's
too 1.46 Ohms then Drops back down too .60 ohms, at WOT am i doing somthing wrong?

when testing tps, car should be on and running and WARM. make sure the car is fully heated up. before adjusting.

to test tps for reliability, unplug it and measure resistance in ohms, move the tps through the full sweep (with car off) and make sure that it produces a linear taper.
i forgot which plugs to use, looking at the plug, i think its bottom one as ground and top right as the other thingy.

Ok. with it unplugged i set it at 1.00 ohms at closed throttle. then when i open throttle it tops out at 4.95. ( nice and even all the way through) when its hooked up i get wierd readings.

k i should clarify.
use ohms only to check to see if it works.
to set it, warm the car up and use voltage to set it, w/o having to unplug it. MAKE SURE the car is warm.

Look you loser, here are your time stamps...

6:29pm
6:54pm
6:58pm
8:22pm

25 minutes between post #1 and post #2.
4 minutes between post #2 and post #3.
1 hour 24 minutes between post #3 and post #4.

Not even 2 hours between post #1 and post #4, and you're already a whiny bitch.
Sheez, don't you know this word called "patience"?

WHO TOLD YOU TO TAKE RESISTANCE READINGS WITH THE TPS PLUGGED IN???
You're not supposed to do that - that's what's ******* up your DMM.

And it's supposed to be ONE KILO-OHM or ONE THOUSANDS OHMS, *NOT* ONE OHM.
