HELP!! New engine won't start
I just tried to start my newly rebuilt engine and nothing. It turns over and has fuel and spark, but it won't catch and start. I'm so frustrated, what could be the problem?
Any help is appreciated.

Did you prime the fuel system? Theres a yellow jumper near the airbox. Jump that and turn the key to on. This should get any air out of the fuel system but I dought its your problem.

Yeah, I primed it and can see the fuel mist out of the plug holes. All the fuses are in also.
I though I read somewhere that rebuilt engines have low compression until they are run for a while. Is there anything to raise it if thats the problem?

I amassuming this is the first engine you have done.
The reason i say this is because I struggled with this as well the first engine I did.
Just make tripple sure that the timing is right, the injectors are primes and put a battery charger on it.
It will take time, but it will behave like the worst flood start you have ever had to deal with on its first startup.
It took 2 hours for me tpo start the first engine I did because i didnt realize it was a flood start condition I was in.
I know its not flooded, but thats what it was.
Just crank the heck out of it.
If you can roll start it do so, but make TRIPE SURE that you have all of everything connected.
Double check the connections you made last.
Air hoses, vaccum lines and of course the mass airflow sensor connection!
All the final intake related connections are the easiest to forget somthing on.
If all is right, it just takes time to start it.
follow flood start point procedure.

Is it possible that the gas has gone bad, the car has been sitting for around four months.
If the gas did go bad, would would filling it up with fresh gas solve my problem?

Update...
IT STARTED UP!!!
Oh man , I'm so freaking happy. It smoked like a bitch, actually hasn't stopped smoking yet.
The only thing is that it won't hold an idle, I'm off to search, but if you guys have any help is more than welcome .
Thanks everyone for the help.

A frech low compression rebuild wont hold a good idle for a few hundred miles, or at least a day's worth of idling int eh driveway, form my experience of 10+ now. I generally use the idle stop screw to raise it up to around 1500 and let it sit there and run for a long time while Im making final checks and watching for leaks, variation in temp adn oil pressure etc. and cleaning up, installing the hood, etc. Then start driving it around. Every time you shut it down it will try to flood, so youll need a flood switch for the first few weeks. After about 1500-2000 miles it really gets a lot stronger, and quits flooding. After the first 2 days or so, you should be able to adjust and get the idle down around 900 and hold it fairly well, but be advised it is not strong enough to hold a realy rock solid idle for a few hundred miles at least.

no hypntyz7!! you have to drive it around without the hood on first.. before you install it.. Because it's fun just up and down the street at least haha
my 3 rebuilds have had NO flooding problems at all... Once all electronics were properly plugged in (took very long time to figure out my problem) all 3 rebuilds fired right up perfectly... and I managed to get a decent 1k idle from them...as you said, you can just set the idle real high so it will idle at 1500ish ..
Keep an eye on compression .. Daily I would suggest
