yo, Im picking up a 1987 rx-7 tommorow. I know it isnt a turbo or a gxl so Im not sure what model it is but anyways I need to know how to tune it up and tell what condition its in. The paint is still shiny however the guy has a fat *** dent in the fender and the rear quarter, the interior is grease stained and he broke the door handles so I cant roll the windows up. On the plus side, the motor is clean and it has 117k miles, what tests should I do and how should I tune it up? Im giving the guy $400 for it and it runs. Hes a back woods hill billy so negotiationg didn't work so yeah any help appreciated. as per interior and ****, I plan on ripping it out and hitting pic- part, believe it or not there is a 10th aniversary with an all black interior like 70 percent complete there. I cant believe what people throw away. Thanks guys, pics up soon-dane

Thanks buddy but I already did. I'd like some person to person advice and I'll get back to whoever helps me on whats working, **** like that.

well when i bought my gxl it had 175k on it. i went ahead and followed the fsm and i replaced the air filter with a k&n intake,the tranny fluid,rear diff fluid ,motor oil.just that helped alot.just recently i replaced my fuel filter and a hesitation the engine had developed went away.next ill replace my plugs and wires and she should be good for a long while.so if i were you ide take it to a shop and get all the fluids changed then go after the filters!
