Help me figure out my boost pattern.

I did a red line run today on a major highway and my boost levels are reading kinda strange i think...What i did was redline all gears starting from a stop. In first I hit 2psi, then 2nd hit 5psi then 3rd hit 6psi once again. I couldent do 4rth cuz im too much of a ***** and i dont want to get a ticket, considering ive already gotten 2 this year and one will really **** me over.
Anyways so i did this twice today and same thing. The thing that throws me off is that if i run it in a diffrent way a get way more boost. If im going lets say 30 mph in third and i slowly give it gas then floor it i get 10 psi easy and no more. So i cant understand why when i red line my car from a stop i only attain 5-6 psi and if i at a roll and give it wot it attain 10 psi??? IS this normal??? Just to give you guys a little backround i ported that turbo a lot and this was my goal in lowering my boost only i want to know if this is good or bad, and if it can be raised at all with a good boost controller. Which is my next mod.
Thanks in advance

My car does the same thing. When you set on the throttle in 3rd gear you have to change the momentum of the car. The turbo spools faster than the motor and is capable of putting out more air than the motor can use at that rpm. I think it's normal. If we had lighter cars we probably woudn't see as prominent a boost spike . And our waste gates are probably still a little too small.

hmm yeah ic, well the problem is i need to fix these boost spikes. Granted it is a lot better than my previous setup, in which i was hitting 14 psi all the time. The problem is that if i take it to the tracks im only gonna get 5-6 psi worth of boost, then if i add a MBC and try to tune it up a bit then what happens if i happen to hit the throttle full blast in 3rd gear? Then im going to get even more boost than before am i not? This is what worries me.
