Help Me ASAP

Hey guys.
heres my problem
yesterday everything was fine on the car.
today I am coming back from work and the oil
pressure gauge isn't working. I checked the oil
this mourning like I do every Tuesday with the fluids,
and it was fine. It this a bad thing, or what do i do,
could it just be the Oil pressure tach, or is it the sensor.
please help thanks, Matt

probably just the oil pressure sending unit. I'd make sure you have a good connection. My connector used to fall off all the time. I'm sure someone would like to put up a good picture as an example.

Ground the cable @ the sender unit, the needle on the gauge should be up If not your guage went south (highly unlikely)

well I looked around and couldn't find any
wires that looked like or resembled what I
saw in the Hanyes OR Mazda factory manual.

It is a single wire on a slide on connector. The sender is a yellow metal round body. It is located just below the oil filter on a NA.

The slide on connector is also round and at the end (away from the motor) of the sender.

The most common thing is that it becomes disconnected or dirty.

The picture at the bottom of page 70, of the Haynes manual shows the location and general appearance quite well.

And the photo on the bottom of page 74 shows how the connector hooks on and again the location.
