You could always rip the turbo off the car, take it apart clean it up get new seals and put it back togather.

DISCLAIMER, I have no idea how much work that is and the cost.

If it fixes it then that solves the problem. If it doesnt your back to square one, but at least you have eliminated any seals in the turbo being bad. Obviously check for any "hardware" cracks and such. I would think this would be much cheaper than doing a motor rebuild.

well today i trailered my car to rotary shop down in kannapolis, nc. the mechanic took a look at it and said from the looks and sound of the car, it shouldn't be a problem with the engine. the engine still had great compression and started up fine. to find out, the smoke coming out of the exhaust wasn't burning coolant, it was oil instead (i should have known from the smell but thought it was coolant bc it was in a shade white.) he said the there was a great possibility that the turbo had blown seals. from the looks of the turbo, there was definitely oil leaking out of it. he also said that the car didn't have any symptoms of blown engine coolant seals.

well, the plans are to strip and replace the turbo first to see if this is the cause of the problem.

hope all goes well...

well planning to rebuild the motor will be my very last option if nothing else is the cause.

also fyi, im running a rebuilt motor already and only almost about 30k miles in. i serious doubt fairly new coolant seals wouldn't break that fast. plus the car has never showed indications of worn coolant seals.

thanks tho.
