help injectors

i have a 90 s5 TII with stock 460cc injectors (red tops). i also have a pair of stock rx7 550cc injectors (purple tops). if i swap them out would it be a bit faster? also the stock ecu should read them right?

You should already have 550cc injectors if you have a t2. But no swapping injectors will not make the car faster

All TIIs came stock with 550s, N/As had the 460s. If you really do have 460s in your car, put in the 550's, or you risk running lean and blowing your engine.

And no, putting in bigger injectors won't make your car faster.

If anything the car will run rich with bigger injectors. The 550's are the OEM size for the TII. In order to obtain any kind of performance gains you have to flash the ECU or use some kind of standalone or piggyback system.

Like the guy said, turbos came with 550's. If your car has 460's, then if you put 550's in, the car will run faster/better.

Why your car would have 460's in it, is an unknown, other than someone really screwed the pooch when they did that.

Looking at COLORS to determine what a fuel injector is CRAZY/NUTS. But that's just an opinion. As an example, some aftermarket fuel injectors might be purple but be 110's meant for a ???? car.

Also the stock color fades after fifteen yrs or so.

IF they are stock injectors, then on the side of them, near the elect connector, there should be a number similar to 19550-1370 or a similar number. What is the number on the side of your injectors?

You sound like you may be a little confused. swapping around injectors on a t2 is serious buisness. If their too small your engine goes boom. wrong impedence, and computer goes boom. I would have the potential "swap" injectors flow tested to make sure they flow whats needed. and make sure the resistance works with your ecu. FSM is your friend

the injectors that are on the car now, that ive been driving with are small 460's on the TII motor? drives fine nuthing happen and no problems for the past 5 months since the motor swap was done. now how bad would it be if i change the 460's to what the turbo2 motors are supose to have (550's). the computer should read it considering the injectors that im putting on are the (stock t2 550cc injectors)....

The ECU doesn't "read" anything. A TII ECU is tuned to use 550cc injectors. If you really have 460s in there right now, you're running lean under ALL conditions. It's a miracle that the engine hasn't blown. This is the exact same reason that sticking huge injectors in with a stock ECU will lead to a seriously rich mixture. Put the 550s in before it's too late.

Think of it this way..if the ECU gives you 75% duty cycle of say 500 CC injectors, you get 375 CC of fuel.
Now,if you had 440 cc injectors in there it would give you 330cc's of Fuel.
SEE?what I these guys are trying to tell you?You are Running the engine LEAN with 460's,and Lean is NOT good.Your engine needs fuel.
get the 550 Stock injectors to give your engine the "minimal Stock required Fuel"..You are starving it with 460's.
