HELP I cant get out!!!
My damn drivers side seat belt is stuck on my 89T2.
It is at least stuck towards the back so I can still have my seat belt on but it is a pain in the *** to un-hook it every time I need to get in a out of the car!
If anyone has any advice on working on these things please help.
Thanks,
Josh

I had the recall done on mine and then they broke again....Josh, the best thing for you to do, is bring the car there and tell them you need the recall done....they won't do it then, cause they need the parts, but they will have to wait on you if your in their face.

My dad owned a dealership for a bit, and basically he told me that the only way for people to get what they want from a dealer is to get in their face about it.....not fight them...LOL...but just make sure to remind them all the time.

i have the same problem on my 89 gtu, i asked the dealer if it was included in the warranty, as seat belts by febderal law are supposed to have lifetime warranties, they said they never heard of that, so i called mazda's main branch, the lady took my VIN number and gave me a recall number and i called the dealer to do it with the number and they said they would do it, but i never got around to do it, i'd rather manuver around the belt than have some idiot fool around with car

Josh, I have had three belts on two cars replaced without problem. I can give you a copy of the official Mazda notice which I have kept since I thing 1991. It states the retractible belts/motor are warrantied for the life of the car. Whith that in had they can't give you any grief..

Not to bore anyone, but I found the original invoice from a recall belt/motor/seal repair at N/C in February 1998. On the invoice it identifies it as "Seat Belt Recall A6087A" The post number above was, I guess, the Mazda recall campaign number.

As I said, I have the recall notice but unfortunately I have no immediate access to a scanner. Otherwise I would scan it in. I will see If I can get it scanned and send. However, with the recall number all you have to do is tell the service folks at the Mazda dealership the recall number and they can call it up on their computer.
